Mary-Jane Vance is a visiting Dermatologist who visits our Prestwick surgery every Wednesday 9am-6pm. If one of our Vets feels your pet may benefit from a dermatology referral we can offer this in house.
Mary-Jane graduated from The University of Glasgow as a Veterinary Surgeon in 2014. Her interest in dermatology started early on in her Veterinary career. She achieved her General Practitioner Certificate in Small Animal Dermatology in 2019. In 2020 she gained her Post Graduate Certificate in small animal dermatology and in 2021 became an advanced practitioner in this field. Mary-Jane is a member of The British Veterinary Dermatology Study Group and The European Society of Veterinary Dermatology.
You might be visiting with a new symptom for your pet or something you have been dealing with for a long time. It may affect all of your pets skin or just a very small area. No matter how small (or big) your concerns are Mary-Jane is more than happy to help to resolve them.
Mary-Jane always aims to diagnose the underlying problem and make a management plan that works for both pet and owner.
Initial consultations are one hour long, this allows for time to discuss all concerns, gather a full history, examine your pet and to perform some initial diagnostic tests where appropriate.
Follow up consultations are usually 30 minutes, where we will discuss how treatment is going and monitor progress.
