We have been with Dalblair Vets for many years with all our cats past and present.
They have been amazing to us Reception is always helpful and friendly, and Carol Mason is the best vet ever. She has helped us through thick and thin, given advice, a hug, a laugh, and always looking for the best for our pets.
I've been a client of Dalblair for most of my life, and they've dealt with hamsters, rats, budgies, and dogs for me. They've always been amazing with us through the good times and the bad times, and because of this I wouldn't go to any other vet surgery.
Great vets. Always happy to advise and have given the best treatment and care to our dog. Great team.
I have taken my dogs here for several years , hugely impressed by the service and care they have received.
Very friendly and professional service.
Very caring and dedicated staff.
All the staff I have dealt with have been outstanding. I've found them to be true animal lovers and we have been shown genuine care and compassion following the recent loss of one our pets.
Very much recommended.
Looked after my pet's an daughter's friendly receptionists an excellent vet care.
Brilliant with my boy as he is anxious there lovely.
Impressed by friendly, personal approach by FOH staff. The vets take time to explain their diagnoses and any options. They always listen to my concerns. The atmosphere is professional yet warm. I prefer to see the same vet regularly for any ongoing conditions - they have always accommodated this request. They also appear to be able to keep staff!
Excellent caring warm and friendly. Have been with them 25 years. My family who care with love after my boys.
Amazing vets.
A great vet surgery.
Superb Facilities
Our main surgery is well situated in Ayr town centre with our own sizeable car park. There is wheelchair access into the surgery and consulting rooms. Internally we have two separate operating theatres, the larger of which is used for the more sterile internal and orthopaedic surgical cases.
We have a fully equipped modern laboratory with the most up to date blood analysing machines meaning that the majority of our blood samples can be tested in house allowing us to have same day results.
Our branch surgery in also well situated just off Prestwick Main Street on Hunter Street. The Hunter Street surgery facilities include 2 consulting rooms, large waiting room, kennel suite, laboratory and separate operating theatre. This means that your pet does not need to travel into Ayr for their routine medical and surgical day procedures.
Our many other features can be seen on our Facilities page.
Multi Disciplinary Team
We have many years of experience and a wide range of expertise between our team of vets and qualified nurses. Some of us also have areas of special interest and post graduate qualifications that you may read about on our individual postings.
This allows us to offer the best possible advice for your pet as we may draw on each others specialized and individual skills.
Warm Welcome
Our friendly reception staff is an integral part of the whole Dalblair Veterinary Surgery team and as the first point of contact either on the phone or at the reception desk provides a welcoming and informative service.
Value For Money
We are committed to offering pet owners the best service and facilities that we can. As pet owners ourselves we are aware of the cost of looking after our companion animals, however we also feel that if they do have occasion to need medical attention or be admitted to hospital for surgery we would wish the reassurance that they were being looked after with the best care and support available, with this in mind we feel that the service we provide is excellent value for money.
Independently Owned and Longest Established
We are the longest established veterinary practice in the area having been to the fore in caring for the animals of Ayrshire for over a hundred years.
Familiar Faces
Because we are independent we retain our staff- we encourage clients to request to see the same vet/nurse during any course of treatment.
Your Pet, Our Family
We strive to use our expertise and experience to provide the best value veterinary service available locally and to provide the highest level of up to date treatment and compassionate service that we would expect for our own pets.

"On 12th April 2013, whilst on holiday, I attended your surgery at Dalblair Rd with my Springer Spaniel, Jessie, who had cut her paw pad and it was bleeding quite badly. It was lunch time and I attended without an appointment. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful and the vet came off her lunch to help us. I then left Jessie and returned at the end of the day. Jessie had been sedated and her pad had been stitched and dressed. The reception staff very kindly printed off our insurance claim form and completed it for us and sent it off for us. They also gave us leaflets and instructions should we become concerned with Jessie out of hours.
I would like to thank you for the kind and professional manner in which everyone from Dalblair Road helped with Jessie and what an outstanding service we received.
Jessie has now made a full recovery. Many thanks"

"Many many thanks for all the great care you gave to our lovely wee Gem over the past 13 years. She was a much loved pet and we miss her dearly.
Kind regards from all the Jardine family."

"We called Dalblair vets as a matter of urgency because our Lhasa Apso was really giving us major problems. Linsay from the behaviour clinic spent 2 hours at our home with Alfie and we have since seen a major improvement in everything by following the guidelines they provided for us.
The behaviour guidelines are ongoing and Linsay is on the end of the phone should we have any concerns or problems. Very much recommended!"

"Myself and my family would like to thank Dalblair Veterinary Surgery and all involved in the care and attention we recently received when our pet Labrador Sam went through a traumatic ordeal and ended up getting spinal surgery at the Small Animal Hospital in Glasgow. Miss Hutchison and the staff at the practice kept us calm and up to date with Sam's progress prior to going up to the hospital from going through x-rays, checking our pet insurance and medication to giving us directions to the Small Animal Hospital in Glasgow. The quick response from the minute Sam was taken to the vets and the help and guidance we received was paramount to us and to Sam. He was admitted straight away to the hospital and went through his surgery within a few hours.
Sam is now home after a two week stay in hospital and has visited the Prestwick Practice for check-ups and is on the mend. We know this will take a good few months until Sam is fully recovered. So thank you all at Dalblair Veterinary Surgery for all your help with Sam."

"What a difference a year makes in the life of a Labrador with Laser Therapy. Murphy is a 5 years old chocolate labrador he has elbow dysplasia diagnosed in 2014, he had been on restricted activities and medication for almost 4 months which he didn’t enjoy!
However on the 7th of January 2105 we were offered a new treatment by the Vets at Dalblair Vet Surgery - Laser Therapy. The therapy was painless and took about 15 minutes, Murphy found it very relaxing and sometimes fell asleep during the therapy. The laser therapy session initially was a few days apart then every 4 weeks and now it is every 8 weeks. The results have been fantastic Murphy is back to his old self chasing balls, running around and being a Labrador.
The laser therapy has made such a difference to Murphy and we would highly recommend this treatment. The vets at Dalblair Surgery have been so supportive and we thank them for their ongoing care and guidance.

A massive thank you to Dalblair Vets, Ayr, what a lovely friendly bunch of people. A special thank you to Vet Carol for looking after my little Border Terrier Peg who managed to break and rip her nail really badly playing chase with my Border Collie. I am visiting from Bedfordshire and was told that Dalblair were really good. How right that information was. I phoned them and even though they had finished consultations for the day told me to bring Peg straight in. She was in quite a lot of pain. They took her in and I got her back that evening, all bandaged and sorted out with medication she needed. They even phoned a cab for us to get back home. I was also really surprised by the cost of treatment, HAPPILY SURPRISED and no additional costs for follow up consultations either. Just in case anyone thinks that vet care here is expensive, believe me it is nothing compared to what you would pay down south. I am returning to my home town of Ayr and Dalblair vets will definitely be getting 2 new customers, Peg the Border Terrier and Olly the Border Collie.
Thanks
Miss Berry Bedfordshire
Best vets by a mile, always know my three are in safe hands when they are seen by anyone there. Molly in particular has really benefited from all the treatments she has had to have.

Our dog wouldn't be with us now If it wasn't for all the staff at dalblair vets, they are a great team for sure!

Thank you to all at Dalblair Vets in Prestwick and Ayr for looking after my wee boy GUS for the last 4 years and in particular a big thank you to Stuart Jefferson who really was Gus's vet! GUS came to us as a rescue just over 4 years ago and with a number of issues which Dalblair vets constantly gave us advice and treatments for. Sadly two weeks ago My precious wee boy GUS was put to sleep and it's taken me two weeks to be strong enough to write this, I am totally lost without him, the house is so empty. So if there are any Westies that cross your path that need a new forever home or a foster home then please get in touch. Keep up the good work Dalblair!
A. Ferguson
Thanks to the staff at Dalblair for their prompt action and treatment of my dog Morgan. They saved her life and we will be forever grateful.

I would like to thank the team at Dalblair, especially Carol and John, for their excellent organisation of the euthanasia of my Dog Bruno. I had originally booked to come to the surgery, but as he couldn't walk anymore, I had to ask for a home visit. The receptionist was very understanding and then Carol phoned and arranged for a vet to come to us asap. She explained the process and the cost involved. Then I got a phone call to say that the vet was on his way. When John arrived at our house he knew exactly the history of Bruno and explained again what was going to happen. He gave us time to say goodbye and the opportunity to be with Bruno on our own if we wished. Although a very sad occasion, the professionalism and dignity by all involved helped us cope with the process much better.

We cannot thank everyone enough for saving our baby especially Inga who has been treating her from the start, it has been a very emotional time for us during this as it was so out the blue but we are indebted to you all for never giving up on our baby Lacie and caring and looking after her so well. Also if you can pass on to my thanks to Vets Now at Kilmarnock for answering my calls at all times of the night when I kept phoning on the Monday night to make sure she was ok.
I know Lacie captured a lot of hearts so if you could pass on big thank you kisses from her she would love that!
Mrs McKean Prestwick
My wee dog Tilly hadn't been herself a few days before her check up with the care club at dalblair surgery. I took Tilly for her check up to find out poor Tilly had decayed teeth that required attention Tilly was put under a general anaesthetic (I was slightly worried about this) and her decayed teeth were removed. A few hours later Tilly returned home and after a sleep was bright eyed and bushy tailed back to the wee dog I knew, please folks if any of your dogs, cats need teeth done please show your loyalty back to them with treatment.....we have all had toothache in our lives ..thank you
Mr Kell Ayr
My two dogs are getting on in years and are having a few health issues. Therefore I've been using Dalblairs more frequently. I find them very good, I also feel that they are not all about money. The vets are thorough and have always been spot on with my dogs issues.
T. Young Ayr
Dalblair vets are fantastic. All the staff I've dealt with have been great, especially Stuart and Linsay. Definitely feel this vets surgery has my dog's best interests at heart. Would highly recommend using them for your pets.

My wee dogs are 13 & 8, and we have been with Dalblair that full time. One of my dogs was very poorly the week before Christmas and I cannot fault the care he was given.
L.Clancy Ayr
I was overwhelmed by the care and consideration extended to my dog by Stuart Jefferson at the end of his life. As upsetting as it was for me, Stuart made it a dignified and peaceful process for Rizo. I cannot thank him enough. We will be welcoming a pup home soon and Stuart and his team will be our first port of call.
M.Webb Ayr
I was asked by the wonderful vet who looked after my dog Sam, who had a really bad smell coming from his mouth but was still eating, doing all his normal things but he did look and act really sad. So the outcome was Sam had two large back teeth on each side of his mouth that were really badly diseased so the vet took out those four large teeth and one week on and my dog Sam is a different dog he is really so happy. So please, the moral of my story is look after your pets teeth as they cannot tell you what is wrong so God knows how long Sam was suffering we look after our own teeth and our children's so look after your four legged kids too. Thank you so much to all at Dalblair Vets from the Milby family.
